Heresy Tournament Rundown & Results

Heya Hobbylanders,

Papa-Robin back with the promised final round up of the Warbarstard’s 30k tournament.

So my friends, the dust has settled over the battlefields of the 31st millennium and we have a clear winner. Hoorah! The tournament was an interesting venture, which everyone enjoyed, no one came to blows at least so I’m taking that as great success! I found the process of creating an army which I would be stuck with for the duration to be an interesting element of the games, and the scenarios made the games far more tactical than I have been used to. Mostly we just set our forces across from each other then smash them together like toddlers playing with GI-Joe.

Anyway, do you want to know who won? Of course you do, otherwise why would you be reading this!? Well, all the games are finished and all the beans have been counted, so the results look like this.

The Glorious Warbastard Winner's Trophy

The Glorious Warbastard Winner’s Trophy

A big congratulations to Duncan for a well deserved Champion’s spot at the top, a very cleverly selected force saw him keep a clean sheet over his five games and earned him the position of first ever Custodian of the Glorious Golden Warbastard, which he can keep until he is knocked off the top spot in the next tournament we run.

Down at the other end of the scale is poor old Jason, who was plagued with some downright terrible luck throughout the tournament. Excuses aside, Jason is now the holder of the dubious honour of being the first ever Custodian of the reviled ‘Sad Trumpet’ (Whaa whaa whaaaaaaa). Again, he’ll need to have his wooden spoon on display (and deal with the fact that the rest of the Warbarstards now call him ‘Trumpet-Face’) until he can shake off his blues and come back with a result which isn’t the bottom of the pile. I’m sure he will take great pleasure in presenting it to the next loser.

So that’s it, I’ve enjoyed myself, as have the rest of the guys apart from Old Trumpet-face! But it’s safe to say that we will be doing something similar in the future, possibly with larger forces, possibly with another game system, Bloodbowl is definitely on the cards, but that’s for the future. Why don’t you let us know what your experiences of tournament play have been, or possibly make a suggestion as to something we might want to try?

That’s enough from me for now though,

Big beardy-love,

Papa-Robin.
